I am a knitwear designer living in Bloomington, Indiana, with my husband and our four boys. To me, knitting is a magical adventure in which two pointy sticks can turn lengths of fiber into clothing. There are countless techniques that, when combined with the perfect yarn, can create something incredible. My mission is to find these combinations and share them with the world. I strive to write patterns that are clear and concise and can help you learn new skills along the way.
I have a particular obsession with both sock knitting and shawl design. You may know my Socks of Oz, Narnia, Wonderland, Wonka, and more. This year has also been filled with lots of shawl releases, most notably the Garden Variety MKAL. Come join me on this knitting adventure. Let’s create something magical together!

Mary Hull is the designer and podcaster behind Kino Knits. Think interesting stitches, unique constructions, off-the-beaten path destinations... I take my role as your knitting guide very seriously. All patterns are meticulously drafted, tech edited, and test knit so you can be sure your path is clear. I also believe that collaboration is better than competition, which is why I started the Point/Counterpoint series, now on volume 5, and that you should be able to get good value out of your yarn, which is why I have so many patterns designed for flexible yardage. In short, my mission is to help process knitters create beautiful products. Let’s go!

My grandmother taught me to knit when I was six years old and I have been an avid knitter ever since. I grew up on a small island in Canada and now live in Scotland. I frequently work with my two sisters with these designs even though we have become geographically dispersed across Canada, England, and Scotland. My design style is classic with a modern twist. These designs range from simple pullovers and scarves to intricate lace shawls and fair isle accessories. I find inspiration from a range of places but often this inspiration comes from nature. You can find all of our designs on Ravelry under our design name MunroSisters3

I’m a graphic designer and media artist by day and passionate knitter and crafter the rest of the time. In 2015 I moved to The Netherlands and started my journey into fibre world. Knitting helped me change and adjust my lifestyle, become less anxious and stressed about starting a new life from scratch. In 2017 my first ever pattern Pink Pine Pair was published in Amirisu magazine. With this project I got the necessary confidence to continue with designing and pattern writing. I focus on modern wearable items with a twist. My pattern recipe: smart design, good fitting, eye-catching details and captivating colours. Shaken not stirred!

Cheryl particularly loves knitting socks. They are the perfect practical knit - hardwearing, useful, beautiful and cosy, they are the ultimate portable project and are a great canvas for trying out new techniques and ideas. She always has at least one pair on her needles, and her sock drawer is rapidly running out of room...

Nicole Wagenblast

Instagram
Nicole Wagenblast, an avid knitter from Central New Jersey, first learned to knit from her grandmother when she was just six years old, and she hasn’t put her needles down since her mother reintroduced her to the craft around the age of fourteen. She credits the talented knitters of the Princeton Knit and Crochet Group, which she joined right after college, for continuing to inspire her and for helping to develop her skills. In 2015, Nicole was the #OperationSockDrawer winner on Episode 343 of The Knitmore Girls Podcast after posting a photo of a sock sporting a pair of aviator sunglasses. While amassing an ever-growing stash, Nicole has also been beekeeping with her family for more than 25 years and has served on the executive board of her local beekeepers association. She is a second-generation employee at Princeton University, where she can often be found knitting (surprise, surprise) and teaching others how to knit. Despite having knit countless socks, her Love Needs a Heart design has the distinction of being Nicole’s first published pattern and her first pair ever completed toe-up.
